dc.description.abstract In this paper we discuss the design of an accessible system of lecture presentation to the aide of visually impaired students. The proposed system revolves around neural network based character recognition and Braille displays. After thorough research into all aspects of the system a final design was prepared. Due to time constraints and lack of funding and resources, testing of the proposed system could not be accomplished; however, a simple character recognition application was developed to demonstrate the potential of such a system. en
