Title: Design of a Standing Posture Triathlon Bicycle

Abstract: Proposed is a design for an improved geometry triathlon bike that orients the posture of the tri-athlete in a standing position during the cycling stage of a triathlon. This posture was found to be optimal for reducing muscular fatigue in the swimming and running sub-events of a triathlon. Presented is a design solution that details the steps of the design process including handlebar design, frame geometry, material and tubing size analysis, and a stability analysis of the bike modeled as a second order differential equation.
