dc.description.abstract In this paper we present a new system for elderly patients to use to keep themselves safe from medical regimen hazards. The system will organize and dispense medication at ingestion times, and notify the patient of any possible adverse drug interactions. The design consists of computer software that will be used to update the device's database. The device consists of a speaker, LCD, and LEDs for notification purposes. The design was simulated and the results show that this design could potentially save the lives of elderly patients who disregard medication instruction and those who are subjected to adverse drug reactions. en
